The brass needle is slightly heavier than the two alternatives so the fuel flow is slightly different.

I tend to just use 3 bond on pri.ary cases etc. No gasket.

Simple answer with conrods is replace with new if you can afford them. You have no idea of their history or condition. I always fit thunder rods.

Has anyone fitted a remote oil filter on an early 2 pipe system and just used the rocker feed as as normal.

Have you checked there is not a build up of old sealant in the bottom of the casing screw holes. I use a woodscrew etc . It is supprising how much gets compacted in the bottom and reduces the clamping pressure.

Is the charging sytem giving you  12v minimum at the battery when revved. Many electronic ignitions do not function properly if they are not getting 12volts plus.

I know its a stupid question but the plate has been fitted behind the chainwheel hasnt it.

Have to admit ive never done that much damage to a lock washer at 60ftlb.

Lip raised. But how hard did you tighten it to cause that much damage? Try tightening it with a torque wrench.

Im confused. In pic 5 there are obvious skid marks on the washer. How has that occured if it was locked onto the nut?
