Hi what do you all find best for lifting Bsa. A ramp or jack. Just to make things at a better height for restoration. Many thanks

Twins / Twin leading shoe nave plate
« on: 21 April, 2022, 23:08:27 »
Hi new question ref nave plate on my A50. I’ve purchased a fully rebuilt front wheel with twin leading shoe and no nave plate is fitted and no tappings to secure one on. Is it really necessary to have it fitted? Or is it purely cosmetic? The new wheel is stainless with stainless spokes. Drum has been powder coated so looks great. I’m not bothered about originality more usability! Many thanks

Twins / Rim Lock
« on: 13 April, 2022, 19:01:05 »
Hi should a 1970 royal star have a rear rim lock fitted. I have been offered a rebuilt wheel and tyre and it doesn’t have one fitted. What is correct? And what are safety implications? Thanks

Twins / Royal star 1969/1970
« on: 01 April, 2022, 21:31:07 »
Hi is there much difference between a 1969 Royal star and a 1970 model. Mine is registered as a 1970 but was built in early 1969. Are badges on side panels the same? Or is there other differences? Thank you.

Hi are the oddie securing bolts all different lengths on a 1970 Royal star? Did see in one magazine someone modified there’s to a bolt with a chrome nut on the outside. Looked ok but not original. Anyone got any suggestions on what’s best and secure. Thanks
