Twins / Re: A10 clutch

The Bob Newby set up is a beautiful piece of kit and has performed with no faults and i would keep it if i could, but the electric start requires a standard set up. The bike is a RGS rep and with clip ons and no extension to the centre stand i am struggling to put it on the centre stand with a dodgy back. Unfortunately this is the only way i can start the bike and as such is getting very little use, so its either sell the bike or fit electric start.

i am thinking of fitting electric start to my A10 so will have to replace the Bob Newby belt drive with an original clutch. Can any one recommend a supplier of good quality parts?

Hi Dave, i have used Kestral Transmissions in the past and had good service, it might be worth having a word with them. They are on Holyrood Drive, Skippingdale. Tel number 01724 855711.

i tried some e10 in my Flash a few weeks ago and i was not impressed. The idle was uneven and she just felt off song. Adding a gallon of e5 super unleaded brought her back to running as she should. I think i will stick to super unleaded e5 from now on.

I find my Hood jeans very comfortable but the fit was a bit on the loose side.

Hi Dave, if you still need any help try Eric at Scunthorpe Sheet Metal 13-15 Midland Road. I have been using him for years and they do not come any better.

The Star and Garter / Machine dating

Eight weeks ago i sent my information to the machine dating officer and as yet have received nothing. As the cheque has not been cashed would i be correct to assume that my letter has been lost in the post. I do realise that things are not normal at the moment but as there is no contact details other than post i am not sure what to do next. Any advice would be appreciated. Steve.

Thanks for the advice, i have ordered one this morning from Hitchcocks. I have owned Royal Enfields in the past and always had exceptional service from Hitchcocks, and they are a lot cheaper than Burlen.

Twins / A10 carb spacer
« on: 31 August, 2020, 18:42:18 »
Hi everyone, i am a new member and could do with some information. i have just bought a 1960 Golden Flash which is in very good condition but the carb is badly worn. I will order a new 389 monobloc tomorrow but can anyone tell me if there should be a Phenolic spacer between the manifold and the carb on this model. If i need one i can order it with the carb. Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards,
Steve.
