Primary circuits are always a problem unless you know how to clean them properly. See YouTube Amal Service.

Twins / Clutch Adjustment
28 August, 2021, 15:21:24
I have a standard clutch which I have cleaned whilst restoring. This model has the three ball bearing operator. I have some slack in the cable and adjusted the clutch cover plate. The clutch is engaging and dis-engaging, but I only have half travel at the handlebars. All seems a bit odd. Anyone else come across this. Have my balls shrunk ?

I fitted a SRM sump plate and a quick release oil valve that they use on Rally Cars.

Hitchcock M/C's are brilliant for Amal Parts and they know what they are talking about. Normally overnight post.

All of my clutches have had float, even a new complete SRM Clutch that I put on my A65. Sometimes answers are not forthcoming. Enjoy !

I had my hubs powder coated near Southend, excellent job. New Made in England S/S rims and spokes, built near Southend. Under £550 the lot built. New Tyres tomorrow, job done.

The Star and Garter / A65 Fork Top Nut washers
14 June, 2021, 17:34:40
I am building a special and need two washers to go under the top nuts of my forks. I am wondering if 97-4166 washers will fit from a 1971 A65. If anyone has one in their tool box could they measure the internal and external dimensions, not worried about thickness. Thank you.

Spoke to Hagon's. £300 per wheel inclusive. I just have to supply the hubs and take the old wheels along to double check. Disappointed at the company in Halstead, sent them a nice email with my requirements asking for a quote. That was almost a week ago. Did they reply ? Nope.

Going to get new rims and spokes etc. I want to either get the hubs powder coated or painted first. Will powder coat ping off during a wheel builders tightening of the spokes. Or any other recommendations. Thanks.
