Hi Spaceman.

Thanks for taking the time to help, it is much appreciated. If I don't have any success in finding a replacement over the weekend I will follow your suggestion & move the mounts to the correct position. I can now make some mounting plates following your dimensions.

Thanks again,  Dave

Hi. Mine look like this. If you have a standard subframe you will see the difference.
Thanks for looking. Hope you can help.

HI Spaceman. I have just applied for a dating certificate to obtain an age related plate for my B40 in green lane trim. It transpires that at some point in its 61years the shock absorber mounts have been moved to accommodate longer shockers similar to a B25 so my application has not been accepted.
So my options are-
1. Obtain a B40 subframe
2. Obtain a C15 subframe (identical but would need the left hand mount moving outboard slightly to clear the chain). Thanks to RR vol 2
3. Fabricate new mounts for my original subframe.

So thought i would ask on the forum in the hope someone had a B40 or C15 subframe at the back of the shed.

Regards,   Dave.

I think it depends on which refinery supplies the garage.

Hi. Apparently Esso synergy supreme is ethanol free in most areas of England. See the Esso website for details.

Thanks for that Dave. I'm somewhat confused as 4" = 101.6mm so it must be the 90 profile that changes the equation?

Hi. Can i have some suggestions for tyre sizes for WM3 18 rear rim. 4.00 18? Is 90/90 18 the modern equivalent?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks,  Dave.

Hi. 39mm overall length. The smaller diameter is the lowermost when fitted if my memory serves me correctly.

Hi. My 1961 B40 crankcases use 3/16w size bolt heads & 1/4w size nuts. Equates to metric 11.3mm & 13.3mm so if you don't have any Whitworth/BSF  gear you might get 11 & 13mm to fit also 7/16af for the smaller ones. You shouldn't need to grind the sockets down to fit.

Cheers,   Dave

Hi. The gauze for the later oil pump should have one hole for the scavenge pipe and an oval type hole (to ease fitment) for the pressure release tube.Over a period of 50 years or so it is not unusual in my experience for engines to become a mishmash of parts from various years.
Your adaption is impressive.

Cheers,  Dave.
