Thanks Chris, I guessed that you would know, I had forgotten it was also to do with the queen.

The Star and Garter / Diamond jubilee year
« on: 25 April, 2018, 11:34:50 »
I am slightly confused about the date of the diamond jubilee, as I know we had a diamond jubilee memorabilia for the BSA open day in 2012, can someone in the know please check and possibly verify the correct date for the Diamond jubilee?

Kind regard TTJohn

Have you tried contacting the VMCC, they may have a record of the machine.

Please send our condolences to Jane & the family, I only just heard this tragic news, unfortunately I have been quite ill for the last two weeks so have not been up to scratch with what is going on, I only learned of Barry's  sad demise today from Phil Bull.

Singles / Re: Speedo illumination bulb

Not sure but I believe that on some models with a slit in the side covered, obviously, with a thin piece of clear material and the bulb holder was attached to the side, so that the light shone through, they were never much good though, as I have never seen one that illuminates the speedometer correctly.

Not entirely sure but I do believe that they are one of the same, the only difference is the piston & piston stroke, I think they were both fitted with the same carb, 276 if I remember correctly

You may be able to get a pancake air filter to fit but not sure.

The Star and Garter / Members meeting at Long Compton
« on: 06 November, 2017, 10:11:33 »
It was a very good turn out of members at the meeting yesterday, with some interesting & informative, discusions. It was very good to see other members, who are dedicated to supporting the club, (we all know it's the best club out) I know that it's a bit of a chore getting up on Sunday to travel sometimes 150 miles or more but that is the only way we have to keep in touch & know what's going on and what events to look forward to.
It was great to hear that Daphne is doing a parachute jump to raise funds for a very good cause, she has got more pluck than me but I hope you will all sponser her by making a donation.

Just my two penneth TTJohn

Looks like you need a new front tyre, or is it something on the tyre? looks like it's split in a couple of places. :'(

You are going to have to re-register it with the DVLA  so may I suggest that you contact the dating officer, with the full details and he will issue you with a certificate, for a small modest fee, this will help  but don't forget, a dating certificate now is only valid for one year so, perhaps wait till it's nearer completion. :)
