hi ken, luckily i m not a lawyer. but it  seems triumph disc front ends are ok. no mot required.
if crofty can source a t160 font end all the better as the forks are slightly lower i believe. also steering stop has to be made and the steering damper arrangement thought .

hello, a t140 disc front end on a bsa a10  was always a common mod to improve braking. its the restoration nutters who removed them. another mod is the later twin leading shoe front brake. i guess a lot of us will now have to have an mot.

hello, unfortunately the chaincases are more rare than the crankshaft. and the crankcases rarer still. s.r.m. had some made about 30 years ago otherwise its ebay.
is this the crank that was on ebay around 3 months ago?
i was outbid on one then.

Twins / Re: A10 sump plate studs

the standard studs crack the sump alloy when tightened imo. i only use 1/4 whitworth studding. aprox 1 1/2" long. cut the head of some old timing case screws.
avoids sump welding repairs

a 3 legged puller will work. the secret is to tightly wrap a chain and padlock  F.T. around the outside of the legs to stop them spreading when loaded.  a bar on the puller nut and BANG.

The process is in motion now and awaiting an Sgs inspection. It seems I made the mistake of sending the dating certificate and not the vehicle report which I had managed to mislay and forget about. It's lucky we have people like Julian to turn dvla through me totally off course.

hi all, i m about to send back my application to the dvla as i cant understand why a date of despatch to the dealer network from the factory gate is not the final date of manufacture. will keep you posted.

i ve had my bsa plunger application rejected  for two new reasons from the dvla input services group.
1. dating certificate over a year old. [ by a few days ]
2. date of despatch is no longer valid. it must be date of manufacture.
merry christmas from the input services group.
