The Star and Garter / Re: New BSAOC group

Yes you have that one right Admiral. We need some of the branches already formed to get out more rather than sit in a quiet corner in a pub discussing what they might do. Lets get out and try to get a bit of youth into the riding idea. I often get some of the local lads on their crapanese tiddlers out for a ride. Slowly but surely they are cottoning on...  It's more fun going somewhere rather than sitting looking at a pint pot...   (or coke can)    Griff

Does that mean we should abandon curries etc so as not to help the Ruskies ? Just to think we send money to India to help with their poor and they are better off than we are.. Think I'll stay with my old clunkers and smokey Bantams....   Griff

Well 23rd and 24th the club has a stand at Stafford show. Colin has has a well sorted pitch and the memory of Tom Shuker will be shared in various forms. Are many of our club members likely to call in on the stand and say hello. we 'll be looking forward to seeing you all and enjoying a little chat. Though there will be one member who is likely to cause mayhem on the stand...  See oyu there ..   Griff

How can us wrinkleys understand the world when most of us were at school the official first day of the week was Sunday but now , to please the Americans it is Monday...  Mind you the god botherers kept quiet as the biblical last day of the week is Saturday, to be known as the sabbath as the world was supposed to have started on the Sun day... I'm confused and think after reading all this confusing matter I'll go and lie down... Nurse. nurse, please take another cork out of the red !!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Griff

With reference to re-sizing photos.. Paint it onto a phone ... Do you use oils, water colours or wallop ?  To some of us wrinkleys pfaffing about with such things is mind bending. My granddaughter once showed me what ot do but a week later I'd forgotten. How about this system automatically re-sizes photos automatically as all the other sites I use do.. Perhaps some bright spark might be able to enable this onto our site. ?   Lets se as some of the elder members might just have some interesting things to post and liven up the site....   Griff

Had a suggestion of fitting a spade to each wire then heatshrinking it onto the switch. Might try that  but making sure all works before shrinking into place...

I had my C12 powder coated  at a place near Crewe, Close to J16 M6. They were brilliant and did a superb job. They stripped all the gunge off (bits I must have missed) and did a turn round in 2 weeks as I wasn't in a rush... Wilkinsons Powder Coating at Shavington is the place...

Singles / Re: Anti Wet sumping valves
« on: 08 February, 2022, 08:08:53 »
For me the anti wet sump valve is the perfect answer. I have used one on A50,A65,B31, c15, C12 and DB32 . If fitted correctly they just do not fail or drain and leave an air gap. To do this you ALWAYS fir the return valve below the pump . That means gravity cannot empty the pipe. Yes all the bikes have done lots of miles with the said valves.. There are some nasty tales going round about them . It's not the valves , usually the fitting of same....

The Star and Garter / Bushman...
« on: 04 February, 2022, 18:31:26 »
Just finished a re-build on my D10 Bushman. Yes bought in on this site and am more than happy with the result.. It will be on show at the Telford off Road Show  12/13th Feb on the Owd Codgers stand . I belive we will be in the forecourt so a prime spot for 2 if not 3 of my off-road BSA's  . If anybody comes to the show make yourself known.. The kettle might be on... . As there is some history to the bike it could even make an article for the  mag. It's a small world as they say....
