Twins / 1970 a65 capacitor

I have recently stripped some of my Thunderbolt down during the lock down , I assembled it connected the battery up and it immediately blew the inline fuse. There appears to be a dead short somewhere, If I disconnect the capacitor it seems to cure it. Could this be a faulty capacitor. 

Any advice/ suggestions are more than welcome.

Twins / A65 Clutch push rod

Whilst doing the works as described in my post 'Third gear' I have discovered that my clutch rod is actually 2 pieces with a ball bearing in between them. Has anybody else experienced this. I was going to order a new 'one' but can only find it as a single full length rod. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After just completing the Essex/Herts Air ambulance run of 132 miles on my 1970 Thunderbolt. In the last 20 miles when I changed from 4th to 3rd the lever didn't spring back into central position. If I touch it with my foot it centralised. It was ok 3rd to 2nd etc and also no problem changing up through the gears, any ideas?

I am looking for a toolbox cover with the two screw fitting , I will pay a reasonable amount for one in serviceable condition.

Twins / Seat trims

Does anybody know where I can get the correct chrome trims for either side of a dual seat on a 1970 Thunderbolt?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Twins / STIFF FORK TRAVEL 1970 THUNDERBOLT

I have recently purchased a A65 as above. The front fork travel seems to be very hard and' locks out' every now and then.

I drained the old oil / water! out and replaced with 20w fork oil which seemed extremely hard. I have since drained this and have now filled to 200mill with 5w oil ( any less and it would clunk at maximum for extension when going over bumps) which seems softer but as occasionally seems to lock out when the forks are fully extended. I was hoping not to have to strip them down until winter comes. Any advice/suggestions would be welcome.
