Singles / C15S 1959 Oil Pump total oil loss from oil tank

Hello, I'm putting together a previously abandoned C15S project (1959). The engine was rebuilt by a previous owner (not the person I bought it from) so history of what has been done is a little vague. Last weekend I primed the oil pump by putting oil down the push rod tubes and have had a dribble of oil pumping back on the return pipe (on kickover). Today i retuned to the bike to find the litre of oil that I put into the tank is now in the sump. I removed the sump plate to look at the scavenge valve. All it seems to have is an open tube with no sign of a ball or spring. I can insert a rod 30mm into the tube before it reaches a restriction. Should there be a ball and spring in the tube?

Singles / 1959 oil relief plug and spring query

Hello I'm trying to complete a basket case 1959 C15s and have a query on the oil relief plug and spring set up. I had no plug with the bike and managed to find what i thought was the correct one and bought a spring 40-0378 and ball set to go with it.
The problem I have is that when the ball and spring are put in the hole, the end of the spring is more or less flush with the case. As the spring hole in the plug goes up into the head then when it is screwed in there will be no load put on the spring. Is this how its meant to be. Hope this makes sense!
Ive added a file to show the shorted plug and spring set up which fits my cases and a bigger longer one possibly for a later bike.

Singles / C15 S Scrambler 1959 model. Side stand query

Does anyone have a c15s 1959 scrambler? I am missing a side stand and have tried a 10.5 inch one from a B25 but it isn't long enough. The bike has the standard 19 inch rear and 20 inch front wheels, did BSA have a longer stand for this model?

Hi I'm rebuilding a C15S 1959 model and have a few queries, hopefully someone can help with.
The bike is missing mudguards and I need a rear one. The wheel is 19" with trials tyre and the guard is mounted on the upturned rear frame loop to give greater clearance. I'm guessing that a standard 18/19" rear guard will look to have too tight a curve when mounted away from the tyre. Did this bike have a unique guard, anyone know?
Next question, I think some trials / scramblers would have had a D shaped smiths speedo, would this have been 0-80?
I'm missing a side stand, I've tried a B25 one that I have but it looks too short, any ideas?
Just bought a new Rocker oil feed union. When placed over the studs on the rocker box it only leaves a couple of threads for the nuts to go on. Are there different thicknesses of union?
I'm desperate to get this project running this spring, would love to hear from any other owners.

Singles / BSA C15S Scrambler 1959 which Oil tank ?

Help please, I have a 1959 C15S which thanks to the BSAOC has been identified as being sold via Parks at Lewisham in 1959. it isnt complete and is missing the the elusive centre panel, side cover, airbox set up as well as other parts. It has an oil tank but I'm not sure if its the correct one. The tank looks like the standard one without a top vent pipe. I know the later C15s had a different lank with a mounting plate but I cant find info on the early 59 bikes. If anyone can help me identify which parts I need it would be a massive help. The tank that came with the bike is light blue and I've found traces of the same colour on the fork top covers (plain no headlight mount version) so it could possibly be correct?
