Twins / '61 S/Rocket HHC marking - or not

My '61 S/R is stamped DA10R **** but no HC or HHC. I believe it's an abbreviation for High Compression and do remember my '63 reg. S/R back in the day having those marks stamped on the c/case.
Also, whilst having the cyl. head off recently for repairs i noted the pistons were flat top, not raised or domed. Is this likely to be standard or is it possible that a previous owner has fitted lower compression items.
Any info gratefully received.

Twins / LED h/light conversion

Have been advised to use an LED dip/main headlight bulb as S/Rocket has been upped to 12v, and coupled with electronic ignition has caused the E3L dynamo to fail.The LED bulb will use considerably less power than a conventional bulb and give the refurbed dynamo an easier life. Can anyone give advice on which LED to use. H4,H6,20w/40w. Does it require a resistor of some sort?. It all gets a bit confusing to the uninitiated (me!). All replies gratefully received. Greg.

Twins / S/Rocket dynamo not working

61 S/Rocket, stood for 11 years, dynamo showing no charge on ammeter. Have used multimeter across batt. terminals with engine running but voltage output not rising when revved. Seem to remember from 45+years ago that a wire from battery pos (if neg is earth) connected to the dynamo field wire and flashed to earth sometimes did the trick,(polarizing?) particularly if dynamo rebuilt or laid up for a long period. Can anyone advise on correct procedure. Converted to 12v with electronic rectifier/regulator. Thanks, Greg

Twins / 1961 A10 S/Rocket. Rear wheel binding

Removed rear wheel/drive sprocket completely to free sticking brake plate cam. Yes, i now know i could have left the sprocket ass. in situ. Freed up the cam spindle, deglazed the shoes and drum and refitted the wheel. After tightening the wheel spindle/nut the wheel is now binding and requires some effort to turn by hand. The shoes are not binding. Wheel turns freely when slackened off. Noticed a spindle-sized washer on workstand which i fitted next to the distance piece "cotton reel" on outside of the brake plate. Wondering if this should be fitted inboard of brake plate. Can anyone help please. Thanks Greg
