Singles / Re: C15 - replacement carburettor?

I used a 24mm PWK Flatslide Power Jet Carb for one of my C15 builds which worked much better than the standard Amal.

I went through this dilemma a few years ago when I bought a new Royal Enfield. The Bullet was a good bike but it just didn't fill the gap if you know what I mean, so I sold it and got a 1950 B31 which I'm content with and much happier.

Singles / Re: Does anybody make a quiet silencer for the C15?

The C15 green laner I had last year had a baffle but to be honest you couldn't tell the difference in or out.

Sorry - I didn't realise it was you who wanted a quieter machine and not the snowflake down the road. Unfortunately the C15's are probably one of the louder singles around. If it was me yellow foam ear plugs would be the best bet  ;)

Yes Steve is very good, I just sent his report off yesterday to the DVLA so I can take my Wassell Bantam trials on the road for a spin and a bit of green laning if I can find any!

I would buy one before it's too late, in a few years time the young ones will frown on us older ones riding and driving a polluting petrol/diesel combustible engine. In this mad world things are moving fast to get rid of anything that's supposedly causing Global warming i.e. cattle this week, next week something else but leave the Chinese to build another coal fired power station. Rant over  ;)

I just got around to starting the B31 today after being stood for 8 months (same petrol) and it fired up first kick and ran perfect. Not sure how long it takes for petrol to go off or whether I'm just lucky.

Yes, my tank noise gets louder as the fuel level gets lower. Doesn't bother me anymore you kind of get used to it, also indicates when I need to top it up. ;)

Thanks for your help Chaz, I've printed everything off and sent payment to Steve Foden. Hopefully will have the dating cert in a couple of weeks, fingers crossed.

Thanks Chaz - no I have no paperwork, the chap I bought it off used it in trials on the Isles Of Man when he finished competing in the TT. I'll send Wassell the frame number and see what comes back.
