Pre War / timing cover oil pump late 20s

I am looking at a 1927 ish oil pump set up. Like pretty much all of them, it is broken around the 4 X 1/8 holes half way down the threaded section.

My  question however pertains to the plunger. I have two one has a small check valve with ball bearing and fine spring internally, the other does not appear to have it or provision for it. The one with the check valve I have cleaned but it doesnt strike me as being overly effective. Was this check valve removed in later production? Is the check valve problematic and potentiall restricts flow? Can it be left out?

I am looking at whether the bottom of the housing can be repaired by turning up a steel sleeve to be pressed in and turned to 1/2 ID and 20 TPI 3/4 OD.

I am wondering if any of the BSA engineering drawings exist? Are they available ? I know the Rudge club are fortunate enough to have most of the factory drawings and have digitised which is helpful when restoring / fabricating.

Also I am looking for an electronic copy of the book of BSA 1929

HI Hans,

I cannot help greatly with spares. There were not a lot of these made, 1600 I believe. Some items are that same for the 500 versions which were more plentiful.

How complete is your bike and what are you looking for?

I have a 29 350cc sloper with high comp piston . Spacer is 1/16 inch  approx 1.67 mm thick

I am looking for a crank pin cage for a  1929 350 sloper . Has to suit two rows of rollers 1/4 dia by 5/16 , 24 in total
crank pin is 1 1/8, con rod big end  1 5/8.

I am missing the base plate for a 1929 BSA sloper that sits under the magdyno. I am not sure if someone has one loose they could scan on their printer and send to me and I may be able to have one made? Alternatively I might be able to figure it out if I have the material thickness

The upright tube under the seat is definitely different. The forks and brake lighter also. I cannot make out whether the horizontal tube has the cut out like the 500 version.

I recently acquired a d series 350 cc sloper engine is quite good condition. I am interested to know if the frame is the same as the 500? The barrel and head appears a inch shorter so I am not sure if it requires the bend in the horizontal tube above the engine. I am looking for drawings of the frame if available

Any other differences of note between the 350 and 500? I understand the 350 were less common.
