What is the actual function of the crank case pressure release valve and how do I know its working properly? Does it need cleaning out periodically and if so can this be done with the engine in situ?

Regards to you all during these difficult times.

Is it possible to remove the grub screw and steering lock without first taking off the headlamp nacelle and shroud? If not I assume it would be necessary to drop the forks?

Regard,

Marriott with regard to the movement relating to the forks have you checked that there is no play between the projection on the brake plate and the peg on the lower fork leg. If that is the problem you can cut some shims from the appropriate thickness of sheet steel.

Many thanks for your advice Trev. I assume the DVR 2 comes with full fitting instructions and that I would have to specify whether it was required for negative or positive earth ?  Would I also be right in thinking that some re-jigging of the wiring would be necessary to change from positive to negative earth including changing the pollarity of the dynamo?

I am considering converting my 1958 A10 to 12v negative earth electrics. Is this likely to be an expensive job and what will it involve? Hope the members can help and await your answers in anticipation.
