All booked and paid for,  looking forward to this one as I missed out on Norway rally due to health issues.

I went to the John Bull rally and there was a g0ood turn out by the English contingent. It was very interesting with lots to see around, we were within walking distance from the Tyne Cot cometary,  the ride out was to a old German bunker which apparently was in original condition, unfortunately I missed the ride out due to filling up my tank with E10 and it giving me grief with the carb but Passchendaele museum was a must and well worth the visit, could spend a lot of time there seeing all the interesting exhibits.

Try using Loctite 510 Flange sealant, looks like the shaft has seized causing the bush to spin. make sure oil holes line up when fitting the new bush.

Hello Chris.

I had my first ride of the year on the 12th Feb, escorting the funeral cortege of my late friend Mr Dennis Dale, one of the founder members and chairman of the Kent branch in it's early stages, he also was involved at the start with the coffin dodgers ride outs every Tuesday's.

Well, after some considerable headaches I believe I have cracked it. I have a spark on the ignition and I thought I would ignore the ammeter and just wire the R/R to the avo and check, I kicked it over with plug out and have good amperage and good voltage, so I hope that is an end to my problems on that side of it.
Thanks all for the advice and tips.

Hello all

I do have that diagram and have tried to go with it, trouble is, there is no connection on 12 of the ignition switch so I by passed that and went direct to 12a and as it seems I have all the lighting circuit but no ignition, getting peed off with it now, think I'll put it into Road Star  and let them have a go at it.

rhyatt

I have two wires coming from stator as it's 12v, I also had a R/R from Goff which was supposed to be the one to use, I have since changed for a Wassel type and it's still the same. I have checked the output from the R/R but nothing coming out. I am seriously thinking about going back to the original 6v.

I think a lot of the insurance companies now have been taken over by other agencies, it's difficult to determine which is the correct one to go for, I personally have gone from Carol Nash to Footman James then changed when they became Peter James, who I am still with, even though it's another company now, the beauty of it, I found that there is no need for photo's for an agreed value, you put what you think it's worth and they honour that, I only realised that after having a slight mishap on one of my bikes.

I am still having problems with the charging on my C15G, I have a Boyer ignition system but I have also put a new alternator stator with rectifier/relay unit to convert the system from 6v to 12v.
Obviously there must be a way to get this charging although I cannot find any wiring diagram that will show me where I am going wrong, I am getting a good charge AC from the alternator but nothing out of the R/R. Nothing across the battery either. Does anyone have an up to date wiring diagram? I think that it must be something simple, trouble is there are so many conflicting wiring diagrams for different dates.
Many thanks in advance TTJohn

Quote from: watts on 05 February, 2025, 09:56:41Hello

I have a 1952 M20 which has a Type 3 front brake (Draganfly name) which has the centre stay mount inline with fork leg and only on stay mounting point for front and rear stays. Does anyone know the part number for the forward stay?

Or do I modify a later on with a hammer!

Thanks
Matthew
That does not look right at all, I feel sure that if you had he correct hub you would see that there is another mounting point at the front, take a look at the parts book in the info section.

Dave.
Which route are you planning to take to get to the John bull? Harwich or are you riding down Kent?
I am hoping to go if nothing stops me health wise, as Dover is only 25 miles from me.

Quote from: Dan_B33 on 21 January, 2025, 10:33:24Hello,
Can anyone help me?
Rear wheel right side bearing is guarded by the metal plate.
How to remove without damage?
How the guarding plate is removed?

Cheers These are very tight usually and do take some effort to shift, I have deformed many trying to remove as the middle bit is where it's fixed to sometimes gets rust between, if you are able try to get  some lever in the centre when the axle is out.

I have a A reg One from Paul Goff on my C15 but am not getting any charge to the battery, I have done all the relevant checks ie across the battery, wiring checked, amp meter shows discharge when lights are on but no charge. I phone Paul to see what could be done about it and he has said send it to someone in Thetford to have it checked out but this will take some time and messing about. I think perhaps I should back to him directly and let him sort it out.
What does the team think?

Bantam / Re: Halogen headlamp bulbs
19 December, 2024, 09:51:37
Quote from: Y13 Alan G on 17 December, 2024, 10:26:42More on this subject. Has anyone fitted a LED headlamp bulb in a D14 Bantam? My concern is that as an LED takes far less amps than a standard or halogen bulb the alternator may overcharge the battery with the headlight on. Normally m/cycle alternators only use 2 or 4 coils when only the ignition or sidelights are on and uses all 6 coils when the headlamp is on. If this is the case with a Bantam it could overcharge and boil the battery. I am not an motorcycle electrical expert so any expert advice appreciated.
Hi Alan I use Halogen bulbs in my scooter they are brilliant, got them off the internet from China, I think but they are very good.
