Singles / C15 speedo drive
« on: 23 May, 2018, 20:43:11 »
I wanted to clean & re-grease the speedo drive on my C15 prior to fitting the rear wheel so I cleaned all the old grease of & soaked it in jizer for a few days blew it out with the airline & then let it dry for a few days, after which I wanted to put new grease in there but no grease gun I have would fit the grease nipple.

I took out the grease nipple & used a syringe which I could screw into the thread of the grease nipple hole & kept rotating the speedo drive the grease went in easily.

I hope this help others!

Singles / C15 rear mudguard fixings
« on: 05 May, 2018, 20:45:35 »
Hello all,

I bought this 1965 C15 in boxes & I have just fitted the rear mudguard to the fixing points 3 bolts as shown in the diagrams & photos, it seems really flimsy on the back end of the mudguard side to side movement.

I have also found a bracket that a previous owner may have fitted to resolve this issue also shown in the photos.

Question is how many fixing points should there be?

Thanks Regards Mark

Thanks for the information Julian very helpful.

I measured the offset before I stripped the rims from the hubs as followed both front & rear from hub without front brake plate & rear sprocket fitted as follows measurements taken from these sides.

Front 4.5mm & I would need to correct this by the thickness of the shims I found in the front hub.

Rear 4.0mm with sprocket removed.

I just wondered if this is correct & if any member has a record of the correct offset?

Thanks Regards Mark

Hello to all,

New front & rear rims & spokes ordered for my 1965 C15 hubs are to be blasted & painted first.
Upon strip down of the front hub I noticed some washers/shims on the spindle is this normal & should they be there?
Photos attached.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards Mark :)

I really can't understand what you are trying to achieve these bikes are made to enjoy & not to thrash the arse off them & probably destroy them.

Hi Mike,

To resize a photo I normally right click on the photo then scroll down to open with then select paint, when paint opens in the top left corner select resize then change the 100%to say 25% then rename & save your file to a new folder or folder of your choice you should then be able to post the pictures.

Works for me.

Regards Mark
