Title: 250 or 350

I am considering another single, either a C15 or a b40, my question is ..is there any advantage having a 350 ? my last c15 was very nice, handled well and was quick enough and i never got in the way of bigger machines on the twisty bits,  apart from uphill slogs where would the 350 score ,  ta     (c15 is favourite at the minute as probably has a lower seat  ? )

As a newbie C15 owner who was, ideally, hoping to find a B40 project bike, I will be interested to hear responses.

I have read up as much as I can but am still confused as to the differences. Is it just capacity or are things like wheelbase etc that are different i.e. is the B40 an altogether "bigger" bike?

bigger wheels (18") some have heavier forks.. 7" front brake, bigger tank, 20lbs heavier,

Thanks for the quick reply Bart. I just did a bit of Googling and find that the B40 is altogether a bigger and heavier bike. The B40 seems to be a couple of inches bigger all around!

I had a B44, which was a C15 with the bigger engine. Same weight, (I checked it)
B44 reach 90 mph, but always had quite a bit of vibration.
I decide it was too much and sold the bike.
My C15 SS is much smoother, and will reach 80 mph in favorable conditions.
The B31 was a much heavier machine, 100 lbs more.

I've had both - 2 early c15 models and currently a B40. To be fair if you are happy with the fit and performance of a C15, then I would get one. There seems to be a lot more of them about. I don't think the performance difference is that great. Possibly a bit more torque with the B40.

Thanks for all your comments, the choice i have is between a 1966 C15g (like the one i had a couple of years ago)  and a 1961 (i think) b40, both appear to be good and they are both runners, i am happy enough to decide which i would prefer for riding but which would be best for reliability, i appreciate they are old machines but i am leaning towards the side points 250 as opposed to the dizzy b40,  what do you think, any big problems with b40`s /

The C15G engine was the last and best C15 with stronger bottom end and gearbox.
