Hi,
I've trawled the net (as you do!) and can't find anything referring to a single seat option on a thunderbolt. I'm thinking of touring Europe next year and luggage might be an issue. I'm in the process of building a rear rack and thought a single seat with a slightly longer rack might be a neat way of carrying slightly more gear but keeping it tidy.
Has anyone ever seen this model with a single seat, if I have to buy one I'd like it to look fairly original.
Andy.

Hi,
You don't say what year your Thunderbolt is, but I found this pic of a 1964 Police Spec Thunderbolt:

Hi,
Thanks for the picture, that's a neat looking set up. Mines a 1968 and black as the picture. Over years I have refined my packing to as little as possible, but the Europe trip may be a camping excursion. I prefer weight closer to the center of my bikes and I'm thinking fairly large top box with the tent no further back than the tail light. That seat would do nicely!
Thanks again.
Andy.

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can purchase a single seat as shown?
Thanks...

8)Hi.
I have a single seat that came off a Virago that you may be able to adapt if it may be of any use. You can have it for the postage or collect if you wish. Migt need a quick re cover,

I think that's as close as possible to the original seat. Good find.

Hi Andy,
Your welcome.
I wanted a short seat, purchased an old A65 seat from ebay. Cut about 5-6 inches from the middle and welded the ends back together with two bolts underneath to link up with the original lugs on the frame.
