Title: B40 oil feed
Post by: AdrianS on 27 February, 2018, 08:22:24
Can someone just confirm which way the oil pipes connect to the engine?
Is the outer pipe the return ie the pipes from the tank cross over?
Cheers

Quoting from Rupert Ratio (because I can never remember), those engines with rectangular sump plates have the feed pipe outboard and the return inboard. Those with a square sump plate and end fed cranks (later bikes) have them the other way round. The feed pipe obviously connects to the oil tank. So for the later end fed crank engines, the pipes connecting to the engine have to cross over each other.

Thanks
I knew the pipe crossed over on some of them. Mine is an early one so
The feed pipe is on the outside of the engine!
