Title: Bantam D14/4 Head gasket
Post by: Y13 Alan G on 18 September, 2021, 16:21:13
The only available head gaskets I can find for my D14 Bantam are only 1 mm thick whereas it should be 5 thou thick = 1.27 mm.
Does any one know where I can get a thicker head gasket, say 1.5 mm thick?

I think Rex Caunt supplies 1.5 mm gaskets.
50 thou is approx 1.25 mm so 1.5 mm is slightly thicker.
Also, some Bantam owners fit 2 standard gaskets to a D14 engine with good success.

Many thanks, I've tracked down a 1.5 mm gasket by contacting Rex Caunt.

um theres a little old man by me that  that makes hand made  cylinder  base gaskets up to  1mm thick out of flexhoid also in his   in park are 6 different bantam units for  deep refurb he is very old school he treats me like his favourite son he never had and trusts me implicity  hes an engine  man through and through and he says evry engine sounds different even if they are the same  whilst running he sells one now and then at different levels of completion essentially at cost and says hes finishing when they are all done     you been informed  dont forget  not to go to high a compression on later bantam engines  as it drastically reduces  engine life  proprtionatly  look for the sweet spot and then minus a tiny bit,,,
