Title: The art of installing a kick start return spring on a B25
Post by: AlexP on 25 July, 2017, 17:49:56
I haven't mastered it!

First off I'm Alex. Just joined. I have a 1970 B25 Starfire that I absolutely love! I received it as a tired disused bike that the previous owner tried to make look like a Harley. Ive been busy making it a BSA again and I am nearly complete! I have a couple questions in regard to installing the right side engine cover.

1) what position does the kickstart have to be to ensure the spring slips onto the pin? I've been wiggling it to no avail. I'm still getting resistance.

2) clutch arm should be parallel with the cover? Or does that need to be slightly canted away from the bike? I can't remember how it looked when I took it off.

Thanks tons, and looking forward to getting to know everyone!!
