Hi, hoping someone out there can recommend a good fuel tank paint repairer.  The paint around the fuel cap to my 1969 A50 Royal Star is lifting badly & the problem is getting worse.
I live in East Wittering which is near Chichester, West Sussex & is close to Portsmouth.  Does anyone know of any paint shops in the area they would recommend?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Look for an air brush painter, and when repaired use seal once around the bottom part of the filler, put a tidy ring around it , its petrol proof .

Do you have a photo of the damage?

having the tank properly 2k lacquered will stop this from happening, but also a lot of painters will paint the whole fuel cap area (I often do it myself), the area where the fuel cap touches the seat will start to lift the paint, when this happens, just scrape away that area of paint, it shouldn't then get any worse.

Hi - many thanks for all your replies.  I will upload some photos later & I will call Glen Ward.  Painting anything myself is just not an option for me (have no idea what I am doing when it come to paintwork).  The rest of the bike is pretty immaculate & it is very frustrating to have this area of damage.

Please see attached photos (hope this works - tried to use insert image but could not get it to work)!  Not really sure why??  Any advise appreciated on that.

Area of damage is quite large & there is even some damage on the other side of the tank seam.

I presume you're going to fix the leak in the tank before you paint it?

Hi Alan,
The bike was dropped - not by myself but by my brother whilst I out and about & visiting him - he was only sitting on it! At least it was stationary, also cost me a new foot rubber & indicator unit (he's unemployed so trying to get the cost out of him is nigh on impossible).  There had been very minor paint lift around the edges of the filler cap prior.  Fuel ran out whilst it was on the ground.  I tried to dry it up as fast as poss but it is since that event this has happened.
Not sure if there is a leak but would be best to check - I have no idea how - any advice?
