« on: 12 May, 2017, 12:14:17 »
Hello people
                  Update on the C15
Solved the seat problem mainly due to help from Julian. (Thanks again)
                  Some fettling still to do.
Carb. Is leaking from float chamber cover dispite new gasket and Loctite cement.
Can anyone recommend a suitable cement ?

Float cover probably distorted by repeated removal and replacement over the years.

Only real cure is a new cover.

The joint surface on the body is very narrow, that also needs to be sound.

Julian is spot on. I had a C15 and exactly the same thing happened, when I looked at the joint face on the cover, the distortion is obvious. I have had many Monoblocs over the years and had never come across that before. Hitchcock's do a replacement, if you're quick they might be able to despatch today.

Many thanks.
Updates to follow.
Just got a date for DVLA inspection at the end of the month.
Fingers crossed.

You could try making a gasket out of "cushion floor". I've used it for several gasket applications. Its thicker to start with and will squeeze up easily.

I always use Hylomar but you must put a small amount spread on each surface and then most importantly leave the sealant to cure for at least 15 minuets before assembly. If you don`t leave the sealant long enough before assembly the petrol will just wash it away.
Good luck.
