Electronic ignition
« on: 07 April, 2017, 15:58:32 »
I'm considering swapping out the points for an electronic system on my 1965 A65 Rocket any advice would be welcome even if experience says don't do it!

Ihave a1963 A65 and converted to electronic ignition using the Pazon system and have no regrets also changed to 12 volts but with the pazon system you are advised to use 6 volt coils.

Go for it. I found it makes starting easier and gives a more reliable tickover and no points to maintain.

I have Boyer on one A10 and use a Motobat battery as they really hold a charge over long periods standing.

Hi Old Biker,
I have a Boyer Bransden system on my A50 and I'm using a Boyer MKIV on my A65's.

I have completely redesigned the wiring to -ve earth (see attachment) so I can use quality LED's (headlight still QH). I also use quality modern components rather than the copies of the OM stuff on the market.

I wanted to use a Digital Lighting/Ignition Alternator Kit but the alternator only generates 65W. I considered using LED's, but I'm not convinced with the LED headlight quality.

Kit link for information:

Best wishes...

What is recommended for an A10 with the K2F magneto. I have always been happy with magnetos, but the one on my A10 is getting tired. I have a spare u/s magneto that I would be happy to convert to keep looks correct. The bike is already 12volt. Anybody have any experience doing that?
