BSA Bantam D7 1966 Stop Switch
« on: 11 March, 2018, 22:29:56 »
I have a Bantam 175 cc D7 and it has a single switch in the top headlight, with the engine running and the switch to the lift the side light comes on, take the same switch to the right and the main headlight comes on, put the switch in the centre and no lights on "all lights off",

so with this switch being the only one on the bike, How do you turn the engine off, "where is the stop switch," is the headlight switch wired up wrong, the only way I can stop the engine is to pull the HT lead off.

Thanks

There is not a stop switch with the single headlight switch models.

You set the carburetter throttle stop so that it completely closes and stops engine when twist grip closed.

You could connect a stop switch into the flywheel magneto to earth the live point to stop.
