1963 A65 speedo
« on: 13 January, 2018, 10:53:36 »
I have just bought a 1963 A65 that is kitted out as a Rocket, which I like. It needs quite a bit of work doing and it has a modern speedo so I am trying to find a suitable Chronometric for it. It has 18 inch wheels. Can I use an SC 3303/20 Smiths speedo?
Steve.

SC3303/20 was originaly fitted to various Royal Enfield 250, 350 and 500 according to Smiths 1961 catalogue.

Whether it would be accurate if used on an A65 I dont know, you could always enquire at one of the Chronometric specialists.

Thanks for the reply Julian. According to the parts book it should be SC5301/31 for this bike, but I don't know what the differences are. I sent Gagg and sons an email a week ago, but I did not get a response. So I guess I will have to wait for the next autojumble.
