B31 competition exhaust
« on: 26 November, 2017, 20:49:32 »
Good evening fellow Beezerists,
I am in the final stages of getting the old girl back on the road again, I'm afraid its another Bitsa, 1948 rigid M20 frame married to a 52 B31 - I prefer to call her an M31!

It's all original parts, but quite frankly I have never liked the look of the standard B31 exhaust system, and as it a hybrid and could never be compared with an original machine I have some leeway to experiment.

I really fancy the idea of a high level exhaust, but am not sure if the competition system will bolt straight on. I have average mechanical skills but no access to welding equipment.

My question is has anybody fitted a high level system to a rigid B31?  If so, any description and / or photo's of the mounting brackets would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

BSA fitted such a system to the iron engined B32.

Below from 1947 catalogue.

Perfect Julian! Just the look I'm after. I'll start trawling the interweb.
Cheers
