1942 frame is September and the engine was March. I have a certification from BSAOC for it.

Hi.

The Ministry of War (now MOD) placed an order for 12000 WM20's in the early forties. Contract No S5209. The unit cost was £68-10-0 ex factory.

This info was supplied by the RAF transport records when I was in the process of trying to fill in the history of my machine. Unfortunately very few individual records exist concerning actual machines in either of the forces. (realistically the same reply from Army and Navy)

I forgot I had this info.

It appears that there is no way to identify the contract number. I guess most people make them up?

Hi agen.

It would APPEAR (estimated)that if your machine Frame No falls between 55429 and 110000 then the contract No S5209 should be correct

Estimate is taken from the BSAOC dating info. Mine is in the 110000 bracket 1944 and the RAF archives show 1944 and with that contract No

Take care
