C15 rear wheel dissassembly
« on: 11 November, 2017, 22:11:13 »
Hi, i have removed the rear wheel from my 1960 c15 so i can refurb it. Problem is i don't know how to now dissassemble it.

The spindle is still in, so the whole hub and brake assemble just spin around whenever i try and remove any of the nuts on them.

What's the best thing for me to do? Remove the spindle? If so how?!

Thanks for any advice in advance...

BSA didn't think about that. One way is to hold the brake on and use a deep socket and rattle gun

So the only way to remove the spindle whilst the wheel is still mounted?
I removed the rear brake mechanism before removing the wheel

Thanks

The service sheet may help, but the means to lock the whel is to apply the brake. Use a tube over the brake lever on the hub.
