C15 Speedo
« on: 10 July, 2017, 09:12:51 »
Finally got a speedometer.
Would anyone recommend lubrication for the cable.
Also speedo end of cable drive seems too long.
Not sure if different at each end.
Cable was previously fixed so may have take off tank etc.
Just about to fit 180 main jet for road trail.
Booking MOT this week
Updates later.
Regards

I lubricate with lithium grease, but none on the 8 inches closest to the speedo head.

Allow the cable as smooth a run as possible to avoid a jerky movement.

The speedo head end of the inner cable usually has a collar attached a little way from the end. The knurled nut at speedo end has a different thread (metric) to the gearbox end (imperial)

Pull the inner from the outer then smear grease thinly on the inner.
