Thanks Bess
I felt like I was on Blue Peter
But now it is very useful
Dropped the needle right down but too wet to road test
When grip is twisted to a fast tickover and let go
Engine all most stops but then races
I notice Amal sell three 375 carbs with increased bore sizes
So need to do a lot more fettling

Mick your C15 seems to go really well I however am struggling with a 375 carb.
Am I correct in thinking you are on a 376 with 200 main jet ?

Singles / C15 Hub
« on: 30 March, 2017, 21:09:32 »
Hi people
Me again thanks for all the replies.
The cracked hub is still waiting for repair.
I managed to get a good spare so will use that one.
Now my rim is not good enough to spend on a rebuild so any thought on what type of new
rim. Stainless or chrome . What about the width, I always think a wider back wheel looks well.
I have the spokes which are unmarked, worth using ?
Anyone recommend a wheel builder near Stoke on Trent ?
Regards

Thanks for the replies.
The crack is from a spoke hole.
Very fine about 1 inch in length parallel with the spindle

Singles / Wheel hubs
« on: 26 March, 2017, 17:51:34 »
Hi chaps/chapesses
Some of you may remember my woes.
At the moment I am trying to solve a cracked rear wheel hub.
The existing hub is I think cast iron.
However I found one advertised as alloy could this be a later type and can it be used instead
of the cast one??
Any comments appreciated as usual.

The Star and Garter / Tyres
« on: 16 March, 2017, 04:43:09 »
Hello people
Having to rebuild a C15 wheel and considering fitting a new tyre.
Existing is Avon (square looking profile)
Any advice on which to fit would be great.
Is it important to renew both at the same time.
Regards

Looking at fitting a new generic type (came with the bits)
MORE IMPORTANT
Just about to fit rear wheel received a body blow.
Small crack about 1 inch long on the hub. (Bugger)
Desperate to finish the bike.
What do you reckon ??
MOT FAILURE ?
Can it be repaired ?

Thanks for that.
Julian
Am I correct in assuming that after connecting the output cables the other two from the
alternator can be either terminal way round ?

As some of you know I am wiring a C15 SS.
I have a rectifier, came with the bits,it's a square alloy looking block centre drilled,4 connections.
Any idea how it is connected !
Also what about location the harness points to near the toolbox.
