Thanks for that. My book says for the Monobloc- M20 376/21   1"
                                                                       M21 376/23   1..1/16"
However as far as I can tell the receiving orifice on the block appears to be only the one size 1.1/8".
However its really not important as its only for my interest. But I would be interested if anyone has a definitive answer.

Thanks agen

Just a thought. Do the M20 and M21 have identical cylinders. The reason that I'm asking is because my book says that the carb bore is different, that of course makes sense, and I am wondering about whether there is a difference in the inlet orifice.

Hi

The one I've just had done is a "new" Indian tank. Its only had two lots of petrol in it and the inside basically dissolved. then went solid,

So heres hoping. Of course it doesn't help that as far as I can tell they are the only source.

That's life

I can assure you that right now anything is cheap compared with 190.

Hi :)

I have no idea whether its covered or not. However it should be somehow possible to set up an "escrow" system. You pay your money to a registered third party who holds it until you actually have the goods. Once you are happy with the purchase then and only then they pass on the money. I believe that they also take responsibility for the return of goods. THat is you wont get your money back until goods are satisfactorily received by the sender.

Its used a lot in certain parts but whether its available in UK-------no idea. I shall look into it. Of course as with paypal there is a percentage handling charge.

Hi  :)

Follow up to petrol tank woes.

Now have mine back from having it internally stripped and resealed.

Checked it out as best I could and it appears to be sound. The workmanship is very good and the materials used have left a fairly high gloss finish: looks hard. Of course only time and use will tell. As I said expensive. Inc VAT 190.

I have another seriously ancient tank that I shall have a go at myself prob in the new year. Will report eventually "subject to memory"

Its a sorry state of affairs and appears as bad as ever. Its very difficult to know how to deal with it. Something like that I think you either do cash on collection or Paypal.(I don't actually mind paying a bit extra to cover the Paypal transaction) Certainly parting with cash unseen is maybe not the best way to go.

But I must confess to not having a clue how to deal with it, and Ebay don't appear to be in the slightest interested. Fraid its a case of you pays yer money and you takes yer choice.

Hi agen.

It would APPEAR (estimated)that if your machine Frame No falls between 55429 and 110000 then the contract No S5209 should be correct

Estimate is taken from the BSAOC dating info. Mine is in the 110000 bracket 1944 and the RAF archives show 1944 and with that contract No

Take care

Hi.

The Ministry of War (now MOD) placed an order for 12000 WM20's in the early forties. Contract No S5209. The unit cost was 68-10-0 ex factory.

This info was supplied by the RAF transport records when I was in the process of trying to fill in the history of my machine. Unfortunately very few individual records exist concerning actual machines in either of the forces. (realistically the same reply from Army and Navy)

I forgot I had this info.

Hi.

I had a wet sumping problem on my A50. I put in any anti wet sumping valve. 35 ish and a fairly easy job.  No more wet sumping.

I was against the idea to start with, but when I mentioned it here, several guys gave me positive results so I went for it.

It easy to see that it is working by watching the return pipe in the tank.

Worth a thought???
