It may be worthwhile contacting the photographer via his flickr page to ask if he has any details of the owner. Some classic bike shows produce a programme which lists the owners name and occasionally their address.

Another way may be to contact the organisers of the Rackheath Vintage Fayre, to ask if they have details of the owner.

They are the same, as Bess said the C means it has a copper core central electrode.
I have a N5C in my B40 in place of the N5. I doubt if you can buy a N4 or N5 these days.

Thanks Arthur. I got it moving by tapping down with a wooden dowel on the backplate, then with a tyre lever between spindle and slider it came out easily. Its not corroded though, it looks like new metal has been welded on. I've filed it down so it fits nicely.

Singles / B40 Front Wheel Removal
« on: 18 February, 2017, 11:36:19 »
Hi Guys.
Sounds like a simple job, but my front hub is stuck fast on the tongue of the fork slider so I cannot get the wheel off. Its a 1962 B40 with the end caps on both n/s and o/s forks. What's the best way of freeing the hub?
Once I get it free I guess I'm going to have to file something down to make sure it fits correctly in future. I presume I would file down the tongue on the slider. Is that the best way?
Thanks, Steve

Which BSA do you ride? / Re: B40 1962

It is indeed. As far as i know its not been ridden since being restored. It still needs running in. I'm having difficulty starting it at the moment but I'm hoping that a new spark plug will solve that.

Hi. I'm new to this forum, this is my first post.
I bought this B40 just a week ago.
