This is no different to what you already have, so I cannot see your point in this.

Hello Steve.
It's okay using this name but may I suggest that you add a number on the end, or model number of a bike, as the other member has been around for quite a while, just so we know which is which.

Kind regards TTJohn

The Star and Garter / Thankyou Hampshire Branch
« on: 07 August, 2017, 08:19:24 »
Well done Hampshire branch, for thier fantastic weekend camp and a big thankyou to all the club branch members and thier wifes, who made the weekend very special, all chipping in and helping out, Joe & Bobs wives for making all the scrummy cakes, Debbie who's work and effort into making everything fall into place. A great ride out on Saturday organised by Joe, the route was very good, shame about my bike playing up. Saturday night skittles was a real hoot with a lot of bantering, I've never played that game with square balls.
Sorry, if I've missed out thanking anyone of the team but you all know who you are, so give yourselves a big pat on the back, you deserve it.

Normaly on M20s the thread is british cycle thread 26tpi or in some odd cases 20tpi, however studs going into ally are usually a whitworth thread, I don't think BSF was used on these machines.

The Star and Garter / Wiultshire branch camp
« on: 31 July, 2017, 21:23:04 »
Firstly thank you to the few Wiltshire members that worked their socks off to put on the camp. but the Wiltshire branch camp at the Bruce arms was, I'm sorry to say, a bit of a let down really and the Wiltshire members only noticable by thier absence, a few visitors were very pleased with the Calne bike show. And a few members were very happy with the alternative run that took place thanks to Bob and Clive. The only saving grace was on Saturday evening with Don Grundy and the two assistants providing a fantastic meal, many thanks for that Don, then after that the Yukie Dukes providing the entertainment for the rest of the evening in the pub.
In my opinion, the landlord is not doing a good job for the BSA owners club, overcharging for the camping area, also not cooking food in the pub and there is not enough facilities for the campers, ie, one toilet per sex for an overcrowded camp site.
I know it's not easy to find the correct venue for these events but I did find one in the area during my jaunts out to get a meal and if the Wiltshire boys want to check it out, it's the Woodbridge Inn, aprox two miles from Pewsey, good beers, food was reasonable and good camping area behind, after speaking with the landlady, she seemed to welcome campers also.

No problem with that during this weather but you may want to change to something like 20/40 as it gets colder.

Mike
Good luck mate if you do decide to take on the sloper, I know that the cost of resttoring to a roadworthy condition can take up a lot of cash and in the end you wonder if it was worth it, when you can buy a restored one for less than it cost to restore one.
Thanks for the foot rest mate, received last week, I'm not sure if I can get the weld undone but will try. :)

Try Tony Cooper (TC Motorcycles) of Halesowen, he comes highly recommended by lots of folk. His phone no is 0121 559 2405. He is a great guy, very friendly and helpful.
Tell him I pointed you in his direction
Chris

I'll second that one, and relatively cheap, Does a fantastic job.

Check that the forks are not leaking, I had this once before, where I was trying to cure a leak on the head, turned out the fork seal was leaking and blowing the oil back onto the head and rocker box. Hth

Usually about 2"to 3"  below the neck of the tank, there is no set level, it's just so that you don't overfill it.

Singles / Re: C15 Charging system
« on: 21 June, 2017, 08:21:22 »
The square rectifier you have on your C15 is a replacement solid state one, which are very good and usually work fine, the original ones were bigger, curcular, with three connections. Depending on the condition of the battery is whether it will show a charge on the ammeter, if the battery is down then it will show more of a charge, ifthe battery is good then it will not show a lot.

Tom.
Try with the lights on, that way you can see if it's charging, if the ammeter is working that is, that way you will see a discharge with the lights on but it should come up to a charge reading when you rev the bike, your quite correct the square rectifier is under the seat with three wires, four connections.
If you have recently fitted a new alternator make sure you have clearance between that & the rotor, many folks have burnt out alternators by not checking this.
