Check that the forks are not leaking, I had this once before, where I was trying to cure a leak on the head, turned out the fork seal was leaking and blowing the oil back onto the head and rocker box. Hth

Usually about 2"to 3"  below the neck of the tank, there is no set level, it's just so that you don't overfill it.

« on: 21 June, 2017, 08:21:22 »
The square rectifier you have on your C15 is a replacement solid state one, which are very good and usually work fine, the original ones were bigger, curcular, with three connections. Depending on the condition of the battery is whether it will show a charge on the ammeter, if the battery is down then it will show more of a charge, ifthe battery is good then it will not show a lot.

Tom.
Try with the lights on, that way you can see if it's charging, if the ammeter is working that is, that way you will see a discharge with the lights on but it should come up to a charge reading when you rev the bike, your quite correct the square rectifier is under the seat with three wires, four connections.
If you have recently fitted a new alternator make sure you have clearance between that & the rotor, many folks have burnt out alternators by not checking this.

The Star and Garter / Re: Richard Pawson

Very sad news indeed, I'm so shocked at the bad news, I know that Richard was one of the stalwarts of the BSAOC, attending and supporting the club in many ways, recording the mileage and presenting the awards this year at the Open day, I had great respect for Richard and like so many of the club members will miss him. RIP Richard.

Singles / Re: Rigid B31 Battery Carrier - Missing parts
« on: 12 June, 2017, 08:42:54 »
That looks like a battery carrier from an M20 and I'm not sure whether it is the same as a B31 but I'm sure Julian will come out with the answer shortly, if it is the same as the M20 then there is a plate that fit behind what you have, secured to the frame with three studs and the acual carrier is clamped at the big hole, so that you can adjust the angle correctly. HTH.

Hello all

Is there any photo's or video of this years open day? unfortunately I had to miss it this year, due to other commitments but it would be nice, if someone would put something on here for us all to see.
Many thanks in advance.

Twins / Re: Indian tanks

I bought a tank from India, a chap called Rummy, I believe, it was very good the quality was as good as could be, fitted perfect and I managed to knock him down on the price from 300 to 220 including postage. A great deal and I'm well pleased, this was a A7 tank btw. ;) ;)

MITCHELL.
Yes you can turn up on Sunday but if your a member of the BSAOC you can turn up any day,  you only pay 15 if your camping for the weekend.
I have ordered the weather for the Open Day, so it should be a cracking weekend. 8)

The Events Calendar gives the Open Day as May 29th, which is correct?

The actual open day is on the 28th May but if you are attending the whole weekend, ie camping or in a caravan,  it starts on the 26th until the 29th, unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year. :(

With less than two weeks before the Open day, please get your order in for the Sweatrshirts & polo shirts together with the size to make sure you get yours, there is a number of items on route to our chairman hopefully.
As I will not be able to make the open day this year, please try to help out where you can, in releiving the staff running the show, ie, manning the booking in tent, directing the members where to park etcetera and hopefully you will all have a good time.

Kind regards TTJohn :) :) 8)

I think this is normally lubricated by the oil in the gearbox
