Singles / Drive worm-Oilpump-Distributer

Todays enquiry: Is there anyone supplying new worm drives for the C15 oil pump distributor shafts, it fits onto the crank shaft, my mate needs a new one, as there is quite a lot of play in his and we have checked the drive shaft and that appears to be okay but he has about an 1/8" play when shaft is in in place.

Twins / Lack of adjustment on carb air screw

I have had quite a problem with the A65L, now, I know it should have a monobloc carb on it as its a 63 model, however, it was fitted with a 930 concentric when I got the bike so I thought I'd leave that on there, I can run the bike on choke, when I take the choke off it cuts out, the mixture screw does not seem to have any effect at all, although I have cleaned out the pilot jet which ids the sealed type and blew it through with an air line, I have just raised the needle to the middle slot which I believe seemed to have  improved it slightly, the book states the needle should be in the first groove, now I'm thinking maybe I should try the third groove, what do the team think? :-\

Twins / A65L Starting problems

Hello all just wondered if someone could put in a bit of input into a problem I have with an A65L, I've put on a Boyer Bransden ignition kit, timing is correct, I started the bike up and it cut out almost straight away, so I decided to change the carb from a concentric to a Makuni, started it up and once again it cut out just after starting, it just seems like fuel starvation, the bike has just had a rebore, new pistons rings etc, compression is good. Can anyone shed some light or give me a clues as to what the problem might be?
Answers written on a 5 note might help, if I get enough. ;)

Gillian had a few days off at the weekend so she said "lets go down to Wiltshire and see some of the Wilt's branch lads, they are a friendly bunch", I thought, okay, yes, they won't get their blow pipes out this time of the year, so we could be safe. Thursday night we arranged to meet Doug & Sarah Brown for a meal in the evening, which was very nice, the venue was a bit basic but it will be okay when they finish it, tried to arrange a night out with the lively lads from Wiltshire but they turned out to be quite a let down, they were all frightened at the thought of leaving their town and traveling 15miles to meet us except for Clive & Margret Orchard who arranged to meet us at a pub, some 25miles from their home, and Clive was feeling ill at the time, so well done Clive and I hope you are now feeling better but for the other BSA members who let us down I do hope you are feeling guilty now, no names no pack drill, the wrath of Gillian is upon you.
Had a great time down in Wilshire though and I am quite surprised at how many wonderful (historic) things there are in that area to see and great motorcycling roads, so why is it that every year on their camp ride out, they want to go to Calne bike meet? looking at other peoples bikes is okay but not all day, come on Wilt's, get your act together for this year, or would you like me to arrange a ride out for you? ;D

Twins / Float level on a 930 carburetor

I have a 1963 A65L which is running but I cannot seem to get it to tick over correctly, now I believe someone told me some time back that the float level in the 930 concentric carb is critical so I made up a tube so that I could see what the level was, turned out that the actual level was roughly 1/2" below the joint of the bowl, I think, if my memory serves me right that someone said it should be 1/8" below he joint.
Am I correct in thinking that the later level should be correct and that I should try to adjust it to that sort of measurement?

The Star and Garter / Theme for this years open day

Is there a theme for this years open day? I know its a little early for me to be asking this but I would thing that there should be something in place, I believe that BB and B are organising it this year, the event date and entertainment are both booked, should the organisers require any more help please feel free to contact me and I'll do all I can but you only have three months left.
