Is it an export only bike or were there UK versions as well?

His bike has the bigger fuel tank on it.

Keeps you out of trouble i suppose!  ;)

I bought a tank off ebay i think its an A50 cyclone tank, it looks like a catalina tank but no breather it needs stripped and painted that's why i was interested.

Sounds good Mike bring it on. Lots of pics.

I meant to ask what the tank was like before you started, i have used the reverse electrolysis on the inside but never the outside of the tank, it looks as if it has come out pretty good.

Hi all :)

Just dug these bits out of back of barn ready to start next project. (Now you can see why I was thinking about selling my A50) I have a seriously old tank somewhere.

( is that the tank that you sold to me??  ;D)

Is it feasible to lie the engine on its side and then do the same with the frame over the top of engine, if that makes sense.

I saw that done with another classic bike cant remember what it was.

You are still left with the problem of lifting frame and engine back upright though!

 :o

it looks to have plenty of compression anyway! are plugs wet when you are trying to start it? i would start with carb and check pilot jet to see if its getting fuel at startup.

It seems to rev ok when its running.  ;)

What happened to the bridge that connects the crankcases you can see it in pic above.

Top end seizure can have many causes, pistons may have been too tight in bores or could have been running lean, what colour are the spark plugs? small ends look bad big ends are probably the same.

good to see some detailed pics to have a look at.

Today I hit a bump in the road and was throw up, off the seat.
The seat stayed secure.(and so did my nuts)
Mick

But how fast were you going Mick?

hopefully not 75!

Merry Christmas!
