Twins / Oil Level
« on: 17 February, 2017, 18:48:40 »
In my handbook it shows the primary chain case with a filler hole, a clutch adjusting hole and a drain/oil level hole at the bottom.

My chain case only has a filler hole (see picture).
How do I know when I have the correct oil level.

My engine number is CA7SS 5593

Twins / Lubricants

I am in the process of ordering engine oil, fork oil & grease.
Unfortunately the lubricants in the hand book are not easily obtained.
What oils do other members use in their BSA's?

8 inch full width.
When I think back to the early 60's.
The brake plate had a chrome edge to it, sadly these are no longer available new, so will they polish up or better still will they chrome ?

Hi all,
(8 inch full width)
I am trying to remove the brake plate and hub cover.
I have removed the nut & washer from the brake plate but it won't lift off.
On the other side of the drum, I have removed the circlip but every thing is just as tight and the cover plate won't move.
How do you take this drum apart?

Twins / Steering Stem Nut

I want to replace a rusting steering stem nut on my 1958 A7SS with a stainless one.

Can I unscrew the steering damper and take it out without everything falling apart ?

Thanks,
Roy
