Singles / Re: Speedo illumination bulb
« on: 11 December, 2017, 11:07:02 »
Not sure but I believe that on some models with a slit in the side covered, obviously, with a thin piece of clear material and the bulb holder was attached to the side, so that the light shone through, they were never much good though, as I have never seen one that illuminates the speedometer correctly.

The Star and Garter / Awards weekend
« on: 06 December, 2017, 09:54:49 »
Unfortunately I had to miss the awards weekend at Bognor, due to me having to go to Denmark for the weekend, however I did expect to see some photo's on the site from the event, so what happened? was there an awards weekend, I believe I saw a couple of photo's in the Star but not sure, I thought I may have seen some pictures of members all enjoying their selves, did they miss my hip flask that much? ;D ;D :o

Not entirely sure but I do believe that they are one of the same, the only difference is the piston & piston stroke, I think they were both fitted with the same carb, 276 if I remember correctly

Bryan,
Sorry your not so good thee days, health wise, you will have to learn how to take it easy mate. I'm sorry I never took any details about Daphne's sponsered parachutee jump, I just gave her a donation but I'm sure you can contact her through Cliff, if you look in some of your old Star magazines for his address.
In the meantime stay warm mate and let Marie look after you a bit more, she's a good un.

The Star and Garter / Members meeting at Long Compton
« on: 06 November, 2017, 10:11:33 »
It was a very good turn out of members at the meeting yesterday, with some interesting & informative, discusions. It was very good to see other members, who are dedicated to supporting the club, (we all know it's the best club out) I know that it's a bit of a chore getting up on Sunday to travel sometimes 150 miles or more but that is the only way we have to keep in touch & know what's going on and what events to look forward to.
It was great to hear that Daphne is doing a parachute jump to raise funds for a very good cause, she has got more pluck than me but I hope you will all sponser her by making a donation.

Just my two penneth TTJohn

The Star and Garter / Re: Fuel Tanks (again)
« on: 02 November, 2017, 08:53:06 »
Hi

I have visited the localish guy spoken of recently and he swears by this product. He is a professional fuel tank reliner. So I left my tank with him to have the job done properly.?????

I have a second tank that looks as if it came out of the ark which I shall have a go at myself later.

The job is going to come out at about 150. A lot of money but should be worth it.

Take care

I'm not sure why the Indian tank rusted up so quick, maybe it's the fuel we are getting now, I must check my one that I bought from India, I do beleive that some Indian tanks are made on the street corner, whilst others are made using the old English tooling, the one I got was from a chap called Rummy, it came badged & painted, the only thing I had to do ws clean the paint out of the petrol  tap threads by running a tap down them,  all for 200 so I was quite pleased, I hope you get yours sorted.

Looks like you need a new front tyre, or is it something on the tyre? looks like it's split in a couple of places. :'(

You are going to have to re-register it with the DVLA  so may I suggest that you contact the dating officer, with the full details and he will issue you with a certificate, for a small modest fee, this will help  but don't forget, a dating certificate now is only valid for one year so, perhaps wait till it's nearer completion. :)

I once had a bike that was a 1983 machine, imported from Italy, when the log book came it was a 1963, I wasn't going to complain, (free tax etc) I can stand a mistake once but not twice. ;D ;D

Singles / Re: B44 oil leak
« on: 26 September, 2017, 08:50:09 »
A lot of owners just put a normal screw in the chain case oil feeder hole, to seal it up, I don't think it's really necessary to have an oil feed to the chain, as you cann lubricate that manually.

Singles / Re: B25 starting problem
« on: 25 September, 2017, 09:19:45 »
New carb and set up did the trick, I can now report that the starting issue has been solved, I also went out on Thursday last just to try it out, one or two teething problems which were quickly overcome, so I now have a nice little bike to poodle along on, while I spend some time on the others.
Thanks all for all the advice and suggestions.

Kind regards TTJohn
