Title: Rigid B31 Battery Carrier - Missing parts
Post by: chrisgoodwin on 11 June, 2017, 21:33:27
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help in identifying the missing parts to my battery carrier. (Please see attached)
What I am trying to find is the actual battery strapping that presumably fits the rectangular holes at the top to the holes at the front face of the bottom.
I've looked that all the parts lists I can find so far to no avail.
As always, any info / advice is really welcome.
Cheers
Chris

That looks like a battery carrier from an M20 and I'm not sure whether it is the same as a B31 but I'm sure Julian will come out with the answer shortly, if it is the same as the M20 then there is a plate that fit behind what you have, secured to the frame with three studs and the acual carrier is clamped at the big hole, so that you can adjust the angle correctly. HTH.

I dont think this is a factory part, probably homemade.

Below is from the 1949 parts book.

B31 fitted with battery carrier part 65 4667, comprising the bracket part 65 4668 and strap part 29 4657.

Same part used on all the rigid and plunger B31 as far as I can see in the parts books.

That makes sense, the back plate is definitely home made, I think is back to the auto - jumbles for me.
