i have a feeling that the cylinder  holding bolts are leaking from the crankcase .how can I stop this ?..Thank you Rich

Are you sure it's not the cylinder base gasket that's leaking?
In either case there are two options. Firstly get the barrel off and inspect and take it from there. Secondly, if it's not too bad just keep an oil rag to hand.

Well yes .On close inspection it would seem that the only way oil is prevented from seeping up through the inserts is the fact that the tightening of the head bolts draws up the base of the bolts into the insert if you follow what I am on about ?. As only the drive side bolts appear to leak I am assuming that the head bolts were not drawn up far enough to cause a seal in the insert .
