Title: B44 gearbox
Post by: Rockey on 29 March, 2017, 15:26:54
Hi fellow BSA owners & riders.

Can any one help with advise or contact details of person or BSA guru as  I have recently completed B44 rebuild and MOT now sorted, but Victor jumps out of 4th gear and throws all its oil out of the gearbox sprocket.
Hoping a localish samaritan is out there.

Thanks Rocky

I had a bantam which would jump out of top gear.
I found the pins or dogs (what do you call them) were slightly rounded on the ends.
I ground away the edges to make the corners less rounded. only took of about 1 mm on each.
That was successful.
My B44 threw loads of oil out by the sprocket, after I overfilled the primary case.
When I discovered where the level screw was, the leak was cured.
I'm at PE15 9PR.
How can I upload a picture of mine?
