Title: Star fire chain guard thread size
Post by: BEESY on 27 February, 2017, 21:12:21
Hi all.

Can anyone tell me the thread size for the chain guard mounting bolt for my 1969 star fire.

It's the later type chain guard, with the two rear bolts that screw into the swinging arm next to the spindle.it's the lower one of those 2 that I need.

Cheers.

Beesy.

It looks from the parts lists that both the 1969 and 1970 chainguard mountings were the same using the following bolts:  1/4 BSC x 3/8, 5/16 UNF x 5/8 and 3/8 BSC c 1 5/16. This is for the front bolt and the 2 rear bolts. Sounds as though you may have a different arrangement?

Thanks Arthur,

I thought you'd have it, i expect it's correct.

Typically I forgot to get just one bolt on a big order of stainless!

Cheers
