Title: A65 OIF Wiring
Post by: A10 JWO on 14 January, 2018, 17:49:25
Work is progressing onto the electrics. I fitted the Lucas switches on the handlebars and the looms on these are so long they would almost reach the oil filler cap. Has anyone got a decent photo of one these with the tank off showing the wiring locations. Please bare in mind I bought this bike in bits, so I never took this apart. I read somewhere that the main loom connects behind the fork tube. I have a brand new Lucas main loom which matches all the colour codes ( Thank Christ )  ;D

Hi, I hope this works. You can zoom in quite far on the original. I can email it if you want, just PM me your address.

OK, the IMG tags didn't work, but the link does I think.

Yes, they connect into the main loom and headlamp loom at the point above and just forward of the engine. I tried to be clever and fitted them in the headlamp itself but there isn't enough room and it was a bloody nightmare. So I reverted back to the factory method!

Thanks Lads. Crofty, the photo really helps, either way it is going to be a Spaghetti jobby.  Was probably a lot easier on a production line. I will fit and test mine before the engine goes in.

Can anyone tell Crofty or me what the two tubes are welded to the front of his frame, see picture in this thread, thanks.

Tubes possibly built in ppints for fairing mounting.

They are fairing mounts which were fitted in the late 1960's early 1970's to a number of BSA bikes, including non-OIF B25 and B44 bikes.
