Title: A7 SS Colour reminder
Post by: ROYC on 18 February, 2017, 22:07:09
On the old forum someone told me of a colour used on a Jap car that was a good
Match for the A7 Shooting Star.
I have tried to access the old forum but no joy.
Can someone refresh my memory please ?
Thanks
Roy

Hello Roy,

I think this may be the post from the old forum.

Paint colour
Did BSA issue a paint colour/code for the 1961 Shooting Star (Green)?

Re: Paint colour
Roy.

I believe that the Shooting Star was painted in polychromatic light green which was BSA paint code /039.

Unfortunately, there isn't a 'paint code' available for this colour which you can use to get a colour match at your local auto paint shop. I've seen a colour match given as Toyota Altair Metallic Green but have no idea how close this is.

If you want the authentic colour then my best advice would be to buy it from RS Paints who have colour samples for most of the BSA bikes and can certainly provide polychromatic light green. Downside is that they tend to be a little expensive!

That's the one.
Thanks Mark. I will go with Arthur's suggestion and use RS paints.
