Title: A10 Super Rocket cases
Post by: timc37 on 02 October, 2017, 18:53:31
Hi all, I'd be grateful for a bit of advice. I just spotted a pair of 'super rocket' crankcases on fleabay but the number stamping looks suspect (see attached pic). Am I right in thinking that they've been doctored?

Hi,
     Looks fake to me...

I agree. Looks like someone has used a "P" stamp and tried to alter it to an "R".

Also would expect to see either HC or HHC stamped below the number.

Just seen item on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSA-A10-1961-650cc-Super-Rocket-Engine-Cases-Original-Used-Cases/253176643050?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Avoid.

The dynamo mounting cradle has been mostly ground off. You will not be able to mount a dynamo.

I hadn't noticed that, well spotted, that's saved me making a costly mistake. Thanks everyone for your replies
